About A Heart Shaped Homicide

A Dorset cottage by the sea. A Valentine's week celebration. A prize-winning cat.

And a florist who won't be opening his shop again. Sheila Cooper has traded a draughty Highland manor for a tidy coastal cottage with reliable light switches, a wood-burning stove, and a Scottish Fold cat named Clementine who has very firm opinions about the kitchen counter. The village of Hartley Cove is dressed for Valentine's Day — red bunting on the lampposts, a harbor full of charm, and a beloved florist whose roses light up the main street every morning.

Until the morning they don't. When the florist is found dead — and a box of handmade chocolates with no clear sender becomes the center of the investigation — Sheila finds herself tracing the evidence through a coastal village where warmth and secrets run in equal measure. Sergeant Penrose is sharp, skeptical, and not entirely convinced a housesitter belongs anywhere near her case.

But Sheila has her notebook, her instincts, and Max, whose nose is telling a story the evidence hasn't caught up to yet. Some Valentine's gifts are not what they appear to be. Neither are some villages.
