Snow makes Candlewick Cove look innocent. That’s the trick. I run Hart House Holiday Curios, where people buy wreaths, ribbon, and the kind of perfect little traditions that make them feel safe again.

Then a woman walks into my shop and asks for something she can’t say out loud: a “keep him faithful” charm. The next day, her husband is dead. The town doesn’t want a mystery.

It wants a story it can swallow in one bite. Jealous wife. Bad marriage.

Case closed. And because I’m the only one who knows what she asked me for, I’m suddenly a witness… and a convenient target. Someone is already nudging the narrative.
