Jim and Ginger's detective agency has been open for two months. They've found one lost cat. Business is booming.

Then a tourist walks in. His fifteen-year-old daughter has vanished, and the police aren't exactly rushing to help. Jim takes the case, expecting a runaway teenager.

What he finds is a trail of pawn shop receipts, a rented boat, and an old pirate legend that Ginger thinks is ridiculous. The girl went looking for it anyway. Jim and Ginger are racing against a storm, a ticking clock, and the growing suspicion that Oceanview Cove's forgotten history isn't as fictional as everyone assumed.
