How do you run a bookshop in a town where no one reads? Ellie Harper is about to find out. With the future of the Corner Bookshop under threat and only a few months to make the business a success, Ellie comes up with a plan: start a book club and bring the town to the bookshop.

There’s just one problem — hardly anyone in Marlowe Cove actually reads. After some enthusiastic recruiting at the local retirement home, Ellie finally has a small group ready for their first meeting. But when one of the members fails to show up and is later found dead, Ellie’s quiet new life once again turns into a murder investigation.

With the help of her daughter Sophie, her increasingly involved neighbors, and Biscuit the dog by her side, Ellie finds herself asking questions the police don’t seem to be asking.
